This case study outlines the implementation of a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solution at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in alignment with the Government's Vision 2030. The university sought to enhance its cybersecurity measures to protect against threats such as phishing attacks. After evaluating various MFA vendors, KFUPM decided to adopt Authlogics' MyID MFA solution, which utilizes pattern authentication technology. This approach ensures security even if devices are compromised, as it combines dynamic codes with user knowledge. The Director of Digital Risk and Information Security at KFUPM, Yasser Ghaleb Alothman, emphasized the advantages of this technology over traditional OTP-based systems. The rapid deployment of MyID MFA has facilitated quick user access to KFUPM’s information systems while maintaining compliance with NIST standards. The implementation has reportedly improved user productivity by effectively mitigating cyber threats.
