This case study details the implementation of Interfolio Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT) at the College of Engineering and Petroleum (COEP) of Kuwait University. Established in 1966, Kuwait University serves around 45,000 students and employs approximately 1,500 faculty members. The college sought to automate its promotion and contract renewal processes to reduce the administrative burden on staff and faculty. The implementation of Interfolio aimed to enhance efficiency and transparency in academic review processes. Professor Maytham Safar, who led the initiative, noted that the transition to Interfolio allowed for instantaneous file transfers and reduced reliance on physical documents. The system has standardized review processes across departments, providing stakeholders with greater visibility into promotion stages. Additionally, the reporting capabilities of Interfolio have enabled the Dean to monitor promotions actively. Overall, the case study illustrates the positive impact of automation on administrative efficiency and transparency at COEP.
