This document is a case study that outlines a collaborative project between the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) and New York University School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) aimed at developing a multilingual media analysis tool powered by artificial intelligence. The project addresses the challenges of misinformation, xenophobia, and declining media ethics, which threaten inclusive discourse. It describes the partnership's innovative approach, utilizing Generative AI and Agile methodologies to create a prototype that includes features such as xenophobia detection and sentiment analysis. The case study highlights the educational impact on students, who gained practical experience in ethical AI and Agile development, while also producing publishable-grade work. Furthermore, it emphasizes the ethical integration of considerations into the project, ensuring that bias and cultural context were addressed in the model design. The results include a functional prototype and recommendations for scaling the model globally through academic partnerships, thereby contributing to the UN's digital priorities.
