This technical report presents a framework for integrating UN/CEFACT Transparency Protocol (UNTP) semantics into Asset Administration Shell (AAS) submodels to enhance the interoperability of Digital Product Passports (DPPs). The report outlines the challenges posed by semantic fragmentation in the growing landscape of DPP initiatives, driven by regulatory demands for sustainability. It proposes a novel architectural pattern that combines the global semantics of UNTP with the robust capabilities of AAS, which serves as a digital twin framework for managing product lifecycle data. The integration aims to create a coherent foundation for DPPs, facilitating seamless data exchange and mitigating issues related to semantic silos. The report details the operationalization of this integration through a dedicated AAS Submodel Template for DPPs, ensuring that data elements are consistently linked to their definitions in the UNTP vocabulary. Additionally, the report discusses the potential synergies with existing industrial standards and the implications for regulatory alignment and cross-sector interoperability.
