This report is a technical document that presents the mapping of private sector actors and climate-smart solutions providers in Uganda, specifically focusing on their potential to scale products and services to benefit refugees and host communities through sustainable, market-based solutions. The study identifies private sector partners capable of enhancing agribusiness models and technologies, which can contribute to resilient and inclusive economic growth in refugee settings. It highlights the challenges faced in scaling these solutions, such as market distortions from free or subsidized technologies, low purchasing power, and inadequate infrastructure. Additionally, the report outlines various climate-smart innovations being adopted along agricultural value chains, including climate-adapted inputs and good agronomic practices. It also discusses the diverse ecosystem of private sector actors involved in delivering these technologies and suggests strategic recommendations for improving market access and participation of private sector actors in refugee camps. The findings aim to support the PROSPECTS project in fostering economic growth and resilience among vulnerable populations.
