This case study details the implementation of CADfix at Holset Turbochargers, a subsidiary of Cummins Turbo Technologies. Holset faced significant challenges in data transfer between Pro/Engineer and ANSYS due to the lack of a direct translator, leading to inefficiencies in the design process. The introduction of CADfix has streamlined this process, allowing for faster data reworking and improved productivity. Tasks that previously took an entire day are now completed in just one hour. CADfix provides essential tools for diagnosing and repairing geometry issues, enhancing the reuse of CAD data in downstream applications. The case study highlights how CADfix has become integral to Holset's finite element analysis (FEA) jobs, enabling engineers to focus more on analysis and research and development. The implementation of CADfix has also contributed to advancements in Holset's variable geometry turbocharger technology, improving performance and efficiency in their products.
