This case study details VA Telecom's strategic migration to a modernized backbone infrastructure utilizing IP Infusion's OcNOS software on UfiSpace hardware. The objective of this initiative was to enhance enterprise connectivity by improving network capacity and resilience, while also optimizing operational efficiency to support next-generation services. VA Telecom faced challenges with their existing Mikrotik routers and sought a solution that would allow for greater scalability and flexibility. The deployment of OcNOS enabled the consolidation of multiple network functions, resulting in a more stable and reliable network. Key features of the solution included advanced MPLS and BGP services, vendor independence, and a significant reduction in total cost of ownership. The architecture supports future technologies such as Segment Routing and EVPN, positioning VA Telecom for continued growth and innovation in the telecommunications market. The case study illustrates the successful implementation of open networking strategies to achieve a robust and adaptable network infrastructure.
