This case study details the implementation of a new trading floor communications infrastructure at Banco de Occidente, executed by IPC Systems and its local partner Axede. The objective was to enhance the bank's operational agility and productivity by unifying independent communication systems across its two main headquarters. The solution involved the deployment of advanced technologies, including the IPC-Unigy system, which features local and geographic redundancy, and the NICE NTR system. Additionally, two business intelligence tools, Xynthesis and Interaxion, were integrated to support traders in real-time decision-making and improve client service. The implementation process included the installation of various hardware components and ensured compliance with regulatory standards. The results indicated a significant increase in productivity, improved communication, and a high availability infrastructure, achieving 99.9% operational uptime. Overall, the project successfully addressed the bank's challenges and enhanced the trading floor's efficiency.
