This case study details the challenges faced by a US-based law firm that struggled with a cluttered and disorganized workplace due to years of normal operations, mergers and acquisitions, and employee turnover. The firm had unsecured documents and information assets, which posed a risk for data breaches and negatively impacted employee productivity. With limited in-house resources and expertise, the organization sought assistance from Iron Mountain Clean Start. An assessment identified over 70,000 documents that needed retention, 2,000 linear feet of documents past their retention date for destruction, and hundreds of obsolete IT assets that could contain sensitive information. The solution involved labor support to create an inventory database, secure destruction of over 3.6 million documents, and remediation of water-damaged records. The outcome resulted in a more organized and secure office environment, addressing the firm's information management challenges effectively.
