This report presents findings from a survey conducted by ISACA involving over 660 professionals in Asia working in audit, risk, security, data privacy, and IT governance. The objective of the survey was to assess the current state of generative AI usage within organizations. The results indicate that while the use of generative AI is increasing, only 32% of organizations explicitly permit its use, and a significant number of employees are utilizing it without formal policies. The report highlights a lack of training, with 29% of organizations providing no AI training at all. Additionally, only 11% have a comprehensive policy in place for generative AI. The survey reveals that 84% of respondents view AI as a tool that enhances productivity, yet there are concerns regarding the potential risks, including misinformation and job displacement. The findings stress the need for improved risk management and ethical considerations in AI implementation.
