Development of Cloud-Native Manufacturing Application

This document is a case study detailing the development of a cloud-native web application for Shell Lubricants, specifically the 'Method of Manufacturing' application. The project was executed in collaboration with isolutions AG, addressing the limitations of an outdated Microsoft Access-based tool that had become inefficient for managing raw materials and generating reports. The new application, hosted in the Azure Cloud, enhances performance, allowing data import and report generation to occur in seconds rather than minutes. It emphasizes security by integrating Shell's login infrastructure and passing external security tests. The solution is designed to be scalable and adaptable to future needs, eliminating the need for client-side installations. The implementation was completed efficiently, exceeding project goals, and the application is now supported as a software-as-a-service, relieving Shell's internal IT from operational burdens. The case study highlights the benefits of improved efficiency, security, and user experience in modern software development.
