SaaS PLM Standardization for Global Building Technologies

This case study outlines the successful standardization of a legacy Windchill 12.0 system to Windchill+, a SaaS Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform, for a global leader in Building Technologies. The project involved enhancing the existing system to manage parts, documents, engineering bill of materials (eBOMs), and change processes, while replacing Agile PLM and CAD silos. Key challenges included critical data migration to ensure zero disruption, the need for standardization of existing customizations for Windchill+ compatibility, and achieving user readiness for a smooth go-live. The engagement resulted in a standardized SaaS PLM platform that is ready for global expansion, enhanced user experience, and improved system performance. The initiative also included the development of Change History Reports and Quality Dashboards for compliance and traceability, streamlining change workflows with Azure DevOps integration, and enabling real-time supplier collaboration through ThingWorx Navigate mashups. A high client satisfaction score of 7/7 CSAT reflects the success of the project.
