The client faced high cloud expenses and operational challenges during an acquisition. The solution involved engineering a new, cost-effective cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS, with a focus on automation and replicability. The project implemented AWS CloudFormation for environment templating and established a multi-account structure to meet diverse organizational needs. Key enhancements included role-based access management through Okta, which improved security and streamlined access processes. The automation-first strategy enabled better resource management and compliance, resulting in significant cost savings of approximately $83,000 per month and reduced deployment times from hours to minutes.
