Cloud Migration Case Study in Education

This case study outlines the challenges faced by an educational institution due to the use of an outdated Jamf application for mobile device management. The client experienced significant production issues, including data loss and poor performance, which were exacerbated by the lack of cloud capabilities. The solution involved analyzing the existing Jamf application, identifying that the database size was excessively large due to improper log file management. After cleaning up the database, which reduced its size by 96%, the system was upgraded to a cloud-compatible version. The deployment process for laptops was also redefined, shifting from a manual method to an automated, digital-forward approach. The results included a reduction in the onsite server footprint by four machines, improved reliability in policy pushing, and automatic management of newly purchased laptops.
