Configuring AWS for Advanced Data Analysis

This case study details the configuration of AWS for advanced data analysis within a biotech organization. The organization faced significant challenges with their AWS installation, including issues with SSL certificates, VPN connections, user access, and performance of mission-critical applications. Initially called to address the SSL certificate issue, iuvo identified broader problems and aimed to create a more functional AWS environment. The solution involved connecting Azure to AWS using Azure Active Directory Domain Services (AADDS) and establishing a secure site-to-site VPN, which improved remote access for users. Additionally, the Linux servers were connected to AADDS, enabling bioinformaticians to access necessary data for analysis. The results included increased security, productivity, and collaboration, allowing users to efficiently perform data analysis and publish applications through RStudio and RConnect. The organization is now better positioned to leverage their technology investments and enhance operational efficiency.
