This research report examines the impact of IXL ELA usage on the English language arts (ELA) achievement of kindergarten through 2nd-grade students in a New York elementary school. The study aims to determine how IXL ELA usage correlates with students' performance on the Acadience Reading assessment. Utilizing a pretest-posttest design, the report presents findings indicating that higher IXL ELA usage is associated with improved Acadience Reading performance. The methodology includes data collection from student assessments and IXL usage metrics during the 2023-2024 school year. The analysis reveals statistically significant positive associations between various IXL usage indicators—such as the number of skills proficient, questions answered, and time spent on IXL—and students' end-of-year reading achievement. The report concludes that increased IXL ELA usage correlates with higher Acadience Reading composite scores and national percentile ranks, suggesting that IXL can effectively support early literacy development among young learners.
