This technical report examines the impact of IXL Math on the academic achievement of 3rd through 8th grade students in Nebraska, specifically focusing on their performance in the Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS) math assessment. The study utilized a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, comparing proficiency rates between cohorts using IXL Math and those that did not. Key findings indicate that students using IXL Math demonstrated higher proficiency rates on the NSCAS compared to their peers, with increases ranging from 1.72 to 5.75 percentage points depending on the level of IXL usage. The report details the methodology, including data sources and analysis techniques, and presents statistical significance and effect sizes for the observed gains. The results contribute to existing research supporting the effectiveness of IXL as a learning tool, highlighting its role in enhancing student performance in mathematics.
