This report presents findings from the J.D. Power 2025 India Two-Wheeler Initial Quality Study (2WIQS), which assesses quality-related issues faced by two-wheeler owners in India. The study indicates that as customers accumulate more kilometers on their vehicles, they experience a notable increase in quality problems, with an average rise of 9 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) among those who have ridden their vehicles over 2,500 kilometers. The electric scooters segment shows the sharpest increase in issues, with 98 PP100 reported. Key problematic areas identified include brakes, lights/electricals, and fit and finish. The report also highlights that initial satisfaction with vehicle performance is improving, but concerns about long-term reliability may affect future purchase decisions. The overall initial quality score for the industry is 86 PP100, with specific brands and models ranked based on their performance. The study is based on responses from 6,503 new two-wheeler owners and aims to provide insights for manufacturers to enhance customer satisfaction and brand reputation.
