This case study outlines the procurement improvement initiatives undertaken by the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHSC) through the implementation of JAGGAER’s eProcurement solutions. UTHSC, recognized as a leading institution in public health education and research, faced challenges with a decentralized purchasing process that resulted in inconsistent pricing and low user adoption. The university sought a solution that would integrate seamlessly with its existing Oracle/PeopleSoft system to enhance governance and eliminate maverick spending. The adoption of JAGGAER’s Spend Director and Supplier Network facilitated the aggregation of supplier content and improved on-contract spending. The solution provided a user-friendly interface for searching products and services, which led to increased requisition accuracy and efficiency, enhanced spend visibility, and higher user satisfaction. Overall, the implementation of JAGGAER’s solutions has positively impacted UTHSC’s procurement processes and financial outcomes.
