Modernization of DOL's EFAST2 Filing System

This case study outlines how Team JSL modernized the Employee Retirement Income Security Act Filing Acceptance System (EFAST2) for the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). The objective was to enhance efficiency and data reliability in processing over 1.1 million annual filings that protect the pension and retirement benefits of 150 million Americans. Team JSL implemented a comprehensive solution that included migrating the system to a FedRAMP-certified AWS Cloud environment, integrating secure login solutions, and automating workflows. The modernization resulted in increased efficiency through automated processes, enhanced security with compliance to updated standards, and improved user experience for plan administrators and federal oversight agencies. The cloud-hosted infrastructure provided the scalability needed to manage increasing filing volumes and evolving regulatory requirements, ultimately allowing DOL to maintain trust and usability for its users.
