This systematic review examines the factors influencing international nurse migration, focusing on the motivations and implications for both source and destination countries. The study analyzes 290 articles sourced from databases such as PubMed, Cochrane, and Scopus, covering literature published between January 2019 and April 2024. Key findings indicate that opportunities abroad, job insecurity, economic factors, and career advancement expectations significantly drive nurse migration. The review highlights the challenges faced by source countries, including talent depletion and healthcare service shortages, while also noting the benefits for destination countries in terms of knowledge and innovation. Additionally, it discusses the role of government policies and international agreements in shaping migration dynamics. The study aims to propose actionable solutions to mitigate adverse effects on source countries and emphasizes the need for ethical recruitment practices and collaboration between nations to enhance global health systems.
