This original article presents a study investigating the postoperative analgesic efficacy of intravenous lornoxicam in patients undergoing elective femoropopliteal bypass surgery. The study involved 72 patients who were randomly divided into three groups to analyze the timing of lornoxicam administration. Group I received lornoxicam before incision, Group II after surgery, and Group III received saline as a control. Postoperative pain was assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS) at multiple time points. Results indicated that VAS scores were significantly lower in Groups I and II compared to Group III at various postoperative intervals. Additionally, morphine and naproxen sodium consumption were significantly different among the groups, with Group III showing higher consumption. Patient satisfaction was also higher in Groups I and II compared to Group III. The findings suggest that lornoxicam effectively reduces postoperative pain and opioid consumption, highlighting its potential as a beneficial analgesic in surgical settings.
