This case study outlines how Keyfactor assisted GRENKE in improving its certificate management processes amid rapid growth. GRENKE, a global financing partner for small and medium-sized businesses, faced challenges due to an unmanageable array of public key infrastructure (PKI) solutions, which resulted in frequent service outages caused by expired certificates. The company had three different PKI systems and around 70 certificate templates, leading to significant operational inefficiencies. Keyfactor provided a solution that consolidated the management of over 25,000 active certificates and enabled self-service capabilities for application owners. The implementation of Keyfactor's Command technology allowed GRENKE to reduce the workload associated with certificate management, eliminate outages, and improve overall productivity. Training was emphasized to empower users, resulting in faster certificate issuance and a more streamlined process. The case study highlights the transformation in GRENKE's certificate management, positioning the company for future expansion in the financial services sector.
