This case study details the efforts of Bridgewater State University (BSU) to enhance cybersecurity awareness among its community through a partnership with KnowBe4. With a significant increase in phishing attempts targeting students and staff, BSU recognized the need for effective training and education to combat these threats. The university adopted KnowBe4's Security Awareness Training, which includes simulated phishing threats and personalized training tailored to users' needs. The initiative led to a reduction in the Phish-prone™ Percentage from 15% to 4%, indicating improved awareness and response to phishing attempts. The case study outlines the implementation of mandatory training for new employees and the potential for future student training. It emphasizes the importance of ongoing education in building a cyber-aware community and reducing the risks associated with human error in cybersecurity. The findings suggest that the training not only enhances individual awareness but also fosters a culture of vigilance against cyber threats within the university.
