This white paper presents an analysis of the challenges faced by Life Sciences teams in managing real-world evidence (RWE) data. It outlines the average resource commitment required for Clinical Development, Commercial, and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) teams, which includes engaging multiple data vendors and consultants. The study, commissioned by Komodo Health and conducted by Frost & Sullivan, surveyed 300 professionals to benchmark the current state of accessing data-driven insights. Key findings indicate that on average, it takes seven months to prepare data for analysis, with larger companies typically engaging more vendors and consultants. The paper highlights significant hurdles, including data disparity, inaccuracy, and integration challenges. It also discusses the operational difficulties teams encounter, such as inconsistent data management approaches and siloed information access, which hinder effective decision-making. The document serves as a call to action for transforming outdated RWE practices to improve data integration and insights.
