This report examines employee perspectives on workplace sustainability across five major global financial hubs: London, New York, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo. It is based on a survey of 630 professionals conducted in September and October 2024, supplemented by expert interviews and a literature review. The report aims to understand how both junior employees and senior executives perceive workplace sustainability, focusing on their roles in promoting sustainability and identifying key drivers influencing these efforts. The findings are organized around three key areas: talent strategy, which involves recruiting and retaining employees to enhance workplace culture; operations, which encompasses implementing sustainability standards to reduce environmental impact; and business performance accountability, which assesses the integration of sustainability into performance management. The report highlights the differing perspectives between senior executives and junior employees regarding sustainability priorities and initiatives, revealing a complex landscape of workplace sustainability efforts and challenges.
