This case study details the cybersecurity measures implemented for a large pharmaceutical company with over a decade of market presence. The company operates with a substantial infrastructure, including up to 900 LAN hosts and 80 VLANs, and processes numerous email messages daily. To enhance security against phishing attacks, the Labyrinth Deception Platform was deployed, which includes the use of honeypots and file decoys. The system distributes file honeypots to actual hosts, generating multiple file-breadcrumbs for each workstation, which point to functioning network honeypots. The deployment revealed instances where attackers bypassed the existing email signature analysis system, allowing access to workstations. The Labyrinth system not only detected these breaches but also provided crucial time for the Security Operations Center (SOC) to respond effectively. The case study emphasizes the necessity of a multi-layered security approach to address the complexities of modern cyber threats.
