This case study details the implementation of AI-driven scheduling at Texas Oncology-Round Rock, a healthcare provider in Austin, Texas, which operates 65 infusion chairs and manages over 100 appointments daily. The center faced operational challenges due to increasing patient volumes, leading to imbalanced patient flow and inefficiencies. To address these issues, the leadership team adopted LeanTaaS's iQueue for Infusion Centers in May 2022. The implementation of AI-optimized scheduling templates resulted in a 44% increase in daily appointment volume and allowed nurses to take necessary breaks. Additionally, the Fast Track methodology was introduced to improve the port draw process, leading to a 12% increase in combined volume and a 10% boost in nursing productivity. The flexible scheduling adjustments provided by iQueue also enhanced operational efficiency, resulting in a 46% increase in average daily appointments per nurse. Overall, the case study highlights the significant improvements in patient flow and nurse productivity achieved through these solutions.
