This report presents the findings of a survey conducted from August 2 to August 4, 2024, involving 1,521 Canadians aged 18 and older. Key findings indicate that 53% of respondents believe their provincial healthcare system is poor, with a significant increase in this perception compared to January 2023. Additionally, 85% of Canadians expressed concern about the state of their provincial healthcare system, and 87% noted a shortage of nurses. Despite these concerns, 68% of those who visited an emergency room rated their experience positively. The report also highlights that 25% of Canadians are in favor of increased privatization in healthcare, with a notable variation in opinions across provinces. Furthermore, 54% believe Canada's healthcare system is superior to that of the United States, while a quarter of respondents would consider seeking medical treatment abroad for various procedures.
