This report presents the findings of an online survey conducted among Canadians regarding their attitudes and feelings about the back-to-school season. The survey included 1,512 respondents aged 18 and older, who were randomly recruited and had the option to complete the survey in either French or English. The methodology ensured a representative sample through weighting based on various demographic factors. Key findings indicate that a significant majority of parents are experiencing higher costs for school supplies, with 60% reporting increased expenses compared to the previous year. The financial strain is particularly pronounced among younger parents, with 63% indicating that back-to-school expenses significantly impact their household budget. Additionally, 58% of parents find the back-to-school process stressful. The report also outlines preferences for purchasing school supplies, with a majority preferring to buy all supplies at once at the beginning of the school year. The data collection occurred from August 15 to August 18, 2025.
