This case study documents the implementation and performance of Levare's Linear Electrical Submersible Pump (LESP) system in California's San Joaquin Basin. The operators faced significant challenges with conventional rod lift systems, including high energy consumption, frequent mechanical failures, and environmental issues. By adopting the LESP system, operators achieved a 60-65% reduction in energy usage, translating to substantial annual savings. The system's design eliminated wear-prone components, extended run times, and improved reliability, resulting in increased Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). Additionally, the LESP system contributed to environmental benefits by reducing CO2 emissions and noise pollution. The study outlines the operational enhancements achieved through real-time monitoring and advanced algorithms, which optimized performance and energy efficiency. The case study highlights the effectiveness of the LESP system in addressing the unique challenges of low-production wells in a demanding environment, showcasing its potential to improve overall well operations.
