Alabama School Literacy Improvement Case Study

This case study details the journey of Central Elementary School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which transitioned from being classified as a 'full support school' to achieving recognition as a 'Science of Reading Spotlight School' by the Alabama Department of Education. The study outlines the challenges faced by the school, particularly the low reading proficiency rates among kindergarten students, and the subsequent implementation of the Lexia LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) professional learning program.
