CureWave Laser Interface Modernization Project

This document is a case study detailing the modernization of CureWave Lasers' control interface for their non-invasive laser therapy device. The original interface was outdated and difficult for clinicians to navigate, resembling older technology that hindered usability. The objective was to transform the user experience by creating a modern interface that matched the innovative nature of the therapy. The solution involved integrating an Android tablet into the device's hardware and developing a custom Android application that replaced the legacy interface. This new interface features a sleek, intuitive touchscreen that allows clinicians to easily control therapy settings using simple presets or advanced manual adjustments. Additionally, the project included collaboration with an FDA compliance consultant to ensure all aspects of the solution adhered to regulatory standards, with thorough documentation provided for approval. The result was a significant upgrade from version 1.0 to 2.0, enhancing both functionality and user confidence.
