USAID Ethiopia Resilience Evidence Gap Analysis

This technical report presents the Resilience Evidence Gap Analysis (REGA) conducted for the USAID Ethiopia Resilience Learning Activity. The REGA aims to consolidate a library of USAID-funded documentation focused on resilience within Ethiopia and systematically analyze this library to identify how various interventions contribute to resilience outcomes. The report details the methodology employed, which includes library development and qualitative coding, and outlines the findings derived from reviewing 249 documents related to USAID-supported resilience programming. Key findings indicate that systems approaches, which involve deploying multiple interventions simultaneously, tend to be more effective than isolated interventions. Additionally, the report discusses the importance of early action in achieving cost-effective results and highlights the role of social capital in enhancing community resilience. The REGA serves as a focused resource for USAID and implementing partners, providing insights into effective strategies for building resilience among vulnerable populations in Ethiopia.
