This case study details the implementation of warehouse automation at Amware Fulfillment, a company specializing in high-volume ecommerce fulfillment services. The Lawrenceville, GA facility faced challenges with order picking accuracy and labor efficiency due to the large volume of products and the physical demands on associates. To address these challenges, Amware sought an automation solution that required minimal capital investment and offered flexibility. They chose Locus Robotics, which deployed a warehouse execution platform and 20 autonomous mobile robots, known as cobots. The implementation was completed rapidly, within 3-4 weeks, significantly improving operational efficiency. The results included a 35% year-over-year performance improvement and a threefold increase in picking efficiency. Additionally, during peak seasons, order fulfillment capacity rose to 5,000 to 7,000 orders per day, with peak units per hour increasing by 136%. The cobots also enhanced the working environment for associates by providing user-friendly interfaces in their preferred languages.
