This case study outlines the partnership between Fleet Feet and Körber Supply Chain Software, focusing on the implementation of automation in their warehouse operations. Fleet Feet, which has expanded to over 260 stores since its inception in 1976, sought to upgrade its warehouse management system to align with a new ERP solution. The integration of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) was identified as a key improvement. The study details the design of a new 75,000 square foot distribution center optimized for these systems, which included 22 LocusBots. The results of this automation have been significant, with employees reporting less physical strain and more personal time. Training for new associates has become more efficient, reducing the time required from a week to 30-45 minutes. Additionally, order fulfillment has increased from once a week to five times a week, with picking efficiency rising from 85 units per hour to 180 units per hour. Overall, the implementation has led to a 98% increase in order fulfillment rate.
