This case study outlines the implementation of the Oracle Health EHR solution by a regional government healthcare provider in a Nordic country, aiming to modernize healthcare service delivery across more than 1.7 million residents. The document details the challenges faced due to a diverse printer fleet comprising over 20,000 devices, which struggled with compatibility and connectivity issues when handling PostScript data streams generated by the EHR software. To address these challenges, the healthcare provider evaluated various output management solutions and ultimately selected LRS software for its certified interface with Oracle Health EHR. The LRS solution enabled reliable printing capabilities both within and outside the organization’s network, ensuring that external care providers could access necessary documents. The case study highlights the benefits of implementing LRS, including simplified administration, cost savings from avoiding hardware replacements, and enhanced data security through end-to-end encryption. Overall, the project aimed to ensure a uniform level of patient care across a large geographical area.
