This case study details the application of Almasol® High Temperature Lubricant (1251) at Triangle Brick Company's Wadesboro, North Carolina facility. Triangle Brick is a prominent brick manufacturer in the USA, operating two modern plants that produce approximately 120 million bricks annually. The study outlines the challenges faced with commercial grade lubricants melting under extreme kiln temperatures, which reached up to 3000°F (1560°C). To address this issue, Nathan Wallace, the kiln supervisor, implemented Almasol 1251, which has proven effective since its introduction in 2000. The lubricant is applied once a year, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance costs associated with more frequent lubrication. The report emphasizes the reliability of Almasol 1251 in maintaining kiln operations without lubricant-related failures, thereby supporting Triangle Brick's operational efficiency. Additionally, the study notes that using Almasol 1251 has eliminated the need for multiple applications, further enhancing cost-effectiveness and productivity.
