This technical report outlines a wastewater reuse project implemented at an industrial wastewater treatment plant in Guangdong Province, China. The facility utilizes an integrated membrane solution combining ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) technologies to treat printing and dyeing wastewater. The system has a feed capacity of 40,000 m³/d, producing 27,000 m³/d of high-quality permeate, which meets the required standards for process water. The project aims to reduce freshwater consumption and minimize environmental impact by recycling wastewater, addressing local regulations that limit fresh surface water use. The report details the challenges faced, including high chemical oxygen demand (COD) levels and operational stresses due to high temperatures. The implemented solution features PureULTRA II UF modules and MICRODYN RO elements, which have shown effective performance in maintaining low turbidity and high salt rejection rates. The results indicate a reuse rate exceeding 67%, contributing to sustainability and operational efficiency.
