Floating Wind Turbine Design Assessment Methodology

The SCALEWIND JIP, led by MARIN, TNO, Bureau Veritas, and NREL, aims to create a standardized methodology for assessing floating wind turbine designs. This initiative addresses the challenges of large-scale floating wind turbines, focusing on structural flexibility, fatigue, and survivability. The project will establish validated procedures and datasets to enhance design efficiency and reduce operational uncertainties, promoting safe and cost-effective floating offshore wind energy solutions.
