This report evaluates the impact of an employment coaching program, specifically the Family Development and Self-Sufficiency (FaDSS) initiative, on participants receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). The study, conducted by Mathematica and partners, focuses on the outcomes of TANF participants who received coaching through home visits. The findings indicate that FaDSS improved participants' goal-setting and attainment skills by 5 percent compared to a control group. Additionally, while there was a small increase in self-reported earnings of $94 per month, this result was not statistically significant. The program also demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in economic hardship by 10 percent among participants. The report outlines the methodology of the study, including random assignment to treatment and control groups, and discusses the implications of these findings for future evaluations. Further analyses are planned to assess the long-term impacts of the program on participants' outcomes.
