This case study documents how Saber Healthcare Group improved data entry efficiency during resident admissions by implementing MatrixCare Exchange: Data Manager. The organization, which provides consulting services to over 100 facilities, faced significant challenges with manual data entry processes that delayed admissions and increased the risk of errors. Prior to the implementation, nurses spent up to 45 minutes per admission manually inputting data, which was both time-consuming and prone to inaccuracies. The introduction of the MatrixCare platform allowed for electronic retrieval of resident medical records directly from hospital systems, significantly reducing data entry time from up to three hours to just eight minutes per resident. The results showed that nurses now spend 75% less time on administrative tasks, enabling them to focus more on direct patient care. Additionally, the accuracy of medication and diagnosis entries improved, enhancing overall resident safety and care quality. The case study illustrates the transformative impact of technology on operational efficiency in healthcare settings.
