Traffic Management System Deployment in Ontario

This document is a technical report detailing the deployment of the MyCity Traffic Management System (TMS) by SWARCO McCain in collaboration with Innovative Traffic Solutions, Inc. The report outlines the challenges faced by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) with its legacy traffic management system, which struggled with limited communication and interoperability with next-generation ATC controllers. The deployment involved modernizing 500 signalized intersections across the province, enhancing traffic flow and management efficiency. The MyCity TMS integrates seamlessly with existing systems while supporting future upgrades to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The report also describes the tailored training sessions provided to MTO engineers to ensure a smooth transition and the rigorous testing conducted to verify system functionality. Additionally, it highlights the strategic partnership's commitment to maintaining system connectivity and performance through a three-year maintenance agreement, ultimately preparing Ontario's traffic management infrastructure for future advancements.
