Decentralized Capacity Planning Implementation with Meisterplan

This document is a case study detailing the implementation of decentralized capacity planning at targens GmbH using the Meisterplan tool. The primary challenge faced by targens was the lack of a common overview of resource and project situations, which was exacerbated by the use of Excel for resource planning. This method made it difficult to visualize the effects of project delays and reprioritization, especially with multiple teams involved. The solution involved transitioning to a tool-supported process that allowed for flexible and transparent team planning. With Meisterplan, project managers can maintain all project and product development needs while resource managers independently handle their team's capacity planning. Management conducts regular reviews of the overall resource situation, enabling quick identification of changes in priorities or schedules. The implementation of Meisterplan has facilitated real-time visibility of resource utilization and has streamlined the planning process, reducing management workload through visual data presentation.
