This case study examines how a top-10 North American bank successfully reduced account takeover (ATO) fraud by 55% through the implementation of Memcyco's PoSA solution. The bank faced significant challenges, including approximately 12,000 ATO incidents annually, resulting in an annual loss of around $28 million. Key factors contributing to the rise in ATO incidents included phishing, credential abuse, malware, and adversary-in-the-middle attacks. The PoSA solution provided an upstream protection layer that intervened before fraud occurred, significantly enhancing the bank's operational efficiency and customer trust. Following the deployment of PoSA, the bank reported a reduction in customer churn from 16% to 7%, a decrease in false positives from 9% to 3%, and a drop in annual social media complaints about the bank. The study highlights the effectiveness of proactive measures in combating ATO fraud and improving customer relations.
