HealthPartners Enterprise Imaging Solution Optimization

This document is a case study detailing how HealthPartners optimized patient care through the implementation of an enterprise imaging solution. The Medical Imaging team at HealthPartners oversees imaging for multiple hospitals and clinics, emphasizing the importance of strict turnaround times for radiology exams. The case study outlines a multiphase project aimed at consolidating and standardizing the organization’s radiology picture archiving and communication system (PACS). It describes the collaboration with Merative to deploy a fully integrated imaging environment, which significantly improved system performance and reduced delays in report delivery. The project included the adoption of Merge PACS™ enterprise mode, which eliminated the need for an imaging cache and streamlined image storage functions. As a result, clinicians can access patients' historical images more efficiently, enhancing patient care and reducing costs. The case study concludes with the positive impact of the new system on user experience and clinician confidence in delivering timely care.
