Safer, Quicker Industrial Piping System Installations

This case study details the collaboration between JRT Mechanical, Consolidated Supply Co., and Merit Brass Company in the installation of a food-grade piping system for Reser’s Fine Foods. The project aimed to enhance safety, reduce labor costs, and ensure timely completion through the use of stainless press fittings and valves, specifically the StainlessPress® product line. The stakeholders prioritized a design that eliminated harborage points to prevent bacterial growth and selected press fittings for their availability and efficiency. The absence of hot work permits during installation contributed to enhanced safety by eliminating the need for personal protective equipment and fire watch. Training provided by Merit Brass to the installation team was highlighted as a critical factor for success. The case study emphasizes the importance of choosing the right partners and products to facilitate smooth project execution, underscoring the role of technology and innovation in modern piping installations.
