Metaimpact Collaboration for Atlanta Lighting Initiative

This case study outlines how Metaimpact assisted Georgia Power in enhancing public lighting infrastructure for the City of Atlanta through the Light Up the Night initiative. The primary challenge faced was fragmented coordination among various city agencies, which complicated project management and communication. Georgia Power aimed to improve neighborhood safety by implementing smarter lighting solutions to reduce crime and traffic accidents. To address these challenges, a collaboration platform was introduced, allowing for streamlined communication and real-time updates among stakeholders. The platform replaced traditional reporting methods with a single interface that integrated project data, enabling live dashboards and automated reporting. As a result, the time required for weekly reporting was significantly reduced, and the City of Atlanta benefited from improved transparency regarding project progress and issues. The collaboration model developed is now being considered for replication in other municipalities across the state, indicating a scalable solution for future initiatives.
