This report presents findings on shopper behavior regarding salty snack purchases across various retail channels, including grocery stores, convenience stores, and mass stores. The objective of the research is to capture real-time shopper insights from validated consumers to assess purchasing behavior. Key findings indicate that 52% of shoppers identify price sensitivity as a primary barrier to purchase, with 53% of grocery shoppers skipping salty snack purchases due to high prices. Additionally, 41% of convenience store shoppers opt for competitor brands when their preferred choice is unavailable, and 38% of mass store shoppers experience frustration with out-of-stock items, leading to abandoned baskets. The research methodology includes the Point of Emotion® In-Store & Post-Shopping survey, which targets adults responsible for food shopping. The insights gathered aim to help brands tailor their strategies based on channel-specific shopper priorities and address the significant obstacles posed by price sensitivity.
