This case study outlines the partnership between WVU Athletics and MiCamp, focusing on how CityNet's operational savings contribute to the athletic program. Traditionally, athletic departments rely on donor financial support, but this partnership transforms that relationship into a mutually beneficial cycle. CityNet, classified as high-risk, faced challenges such as account reserves and fund holds that hindered its growth. The collaboration with MiCamp Solutions provided a comprehensive cost and risk analysis, leading to the elimination of these issues. CityNet transitioned to a new approval structure, which stabilized cash flow and modernized their payment environment. As a result, CityNet generated $169,000 in annual processing savings, with $69,912 flowing back to WVU Athletics each year at no extra cost to donors. This partnership not only benefits CityNet by reducing operational friction but also supports WVU Athletics in funding student-athletes, thereby strengthening donor relationships and loyalty.
